About Franciscus Diaba
Vice President & Assistant General Counsel
Over the course of his career as an in-house attorney, Franciscus Ladejola Diaba has focused on technology, commercial transactions, product development and intellectual property law. Prior to joining the National Basketball Association (“NBA”), as an attorney, he was as an attorney with Johnson & Johnson for several years. Franciscus Diaba also has experience as an engineer with General Motors.
Mr. Diaba studied mechanical engineering at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he was a dean’s list student. He went on to complete the his juris doctor degree at the University of New Hampshire’s Franklin Pierce School of Law. During his time at the school, he served as the president of the Black Law Students Association and was selected as the student commencement speaker. Mr. Diaba is also a graduate of the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.
